BAJURA, MARCH 9Warm clothes have been distributed to cold-affected students of Saraswati Basic Level School in Badimalika Municipality, Bajura, today. THT Impact: Three stranded Bajura children rescued Relief materials distributed to COVID-hit impoverished families Ward Chair Dharma Raj Padhya said that hats and jackets were distributed to 165 children of the school. Joining Hands For A Change offered the clothes to students after this daily published a news story about the plight of the children.

Children from poor family background are facing problems attending classes.Dhan Lal Rokaya, a student, said they were very happy after receiving warm clothes and would attend school daily.Chairman of Joining Hands For A Change Daba Sherpa said that the organisation had helped poor students after news was published in THT.

He said that his organisation would support schools with different programmes of educational improvement in the school.Bal Bahadur Rokaya, a teacher at the school said that teaching-learning activities were carried out after lighting a fire in front of students during the winter season.

He said children could not afford the money to buy shoes, clothes, among other things.

"The teaching-learning activities have been affected due to excessive cold," he added.Head teacher Hasta Bahadur Dhami said that students could not attend school on a regular basis as they suffered from seasonal diseases during the cold season.

He added that daily activities were carried after lighting a fire.The very poor students are compelled to reach school barefoot as they have no money to buy slippers.According to the school administration, students neither have hats nor warm clothes to beat the cold.School Management Committee Chairman Ram Bahadur Dhami said that it was a great support to the poor children.He said the children were compelled to take the classes in the open even during snowfall.
